Overview:

The LCD1602 character LCD expansion board comes with a high level PCB with gold-plated processing and robust materials. It comes with a brand-new 2-line, 16-character LCD module, which includes a contrast adjustment knob, a backlight selection switch, 4 directional buttons, a selection button, and a reset button. This expansion board simplifies the circuit and can be directly plugged into an Ardui no Duemilanovecontroller.

Pin Configuration:

1. VSS: Ground

3. VL: Contrast Adjustment. Connect to power for weak contrast, to ground for strong contrast. Adjust with a 10K potentiometer to avoid "ghosting."
4. RS: Register Select. High for data register, low for instruction register.
5. R/W: Read/Write Select. High for read, low for write. Combined low RS and R/W allows writing commands or addresses. Low RS and high R/W read the busy signal. High RS and low R/W write data.
6. E: Enable. The LCD module executes commands when the E pin transitions from high to low.
7. D0 – D7: 8-bit bidirectional data lines.

9. BLK: Backlight negative
