This is a product for export. It does not require a power supply and can measure the pH of the soil. Easy to use, good-quality.

Body size: 11*6*3CM
probe length: 16cm

With packing size: 29.7*14.5*5cm

Net weight: 150g

Instructions for use:

When measuring the PH value of the soil, insert the probe into the soil as deep as possible, leaving about 1cm above the probe.

When using the plug-in, pay attention not to touch the stone, do not use too much force, otherwise it is easy to damage the electrode. Wash the electrode after use.

soil pH
soil pH is also called "soil reaction". It is the acid-base reaction of the soil solution. It mainly depends on the concentration of hydrogen-ions in the soil solution, expressed in terms of pH. A solution with a pH value equal to 7 is a neutral solution; a pH value less than 7 is an acidic reaction; and a pH value greater than 7 is an alkaline reaction. Soil pH can generally be divided into the following levels:
pH value of soil pH
<4.5 very acidic
4.5-5.5 strong acid
5.5-6.5 acidic
6.5-7.5 Neutral
7.5-8.5 alkaline
8.5-9.5 strong alkaline
> 9.5 extremely alkaline
soil pH has a great influence on soil fertility and plant growth. Many soils in the northwest and north of China have a large pH value, while the pH value of red soil in the south is small. It is therefore possible to grow crops and plants that are compatible with the pH of the soil. Such as red soil region can be planted with acid tea trees, and alfalfa alkali resistance and so on. Soil pH also has a great influence on the effectiveness of nutrients, such as the effectiveness of phosphorus in neutral soil; the effectiveness of trace elements (manganese, copper, zinc, etc.) in alkaline soil is poor. In agricultural production, we should pay attention to the pH of the soil and take active measures to adjust it.

What is the optimal soil pH range for common crops?

Soil pH has a great relationship with the availability of plant nutrients, soil structure and crop growth. First of all, the organic-nutrients in the soil must be involved in the activities of soil microorganisms in order to convert them into available nutrients for plant absorption, and most of the microorganisms involved in the decomposition of organic-matter grow and develop in a nearly neutral environment, so the effectiveness of soil nutrients is generally the best when the reaction is close to neutral. Secondly, soil pH also has an impact on soil structure. In acidic soil, the concentration of hydrogen-ions is large, which is easy to replace the calcium ions in the colloid, so the acidic soil is easy to be hard. The alkaline soil contains a large number of substitutional sodium ions and hydroxide ions, which make the soil particles disperse and harden after drying, resulting in poor structure of the alkaline earth. In addition, soil pH and plant growth is also closely related. In nature, some plants have strict requirements on soil acid-base conditions. They can only grow within a specific acid-base range. These plants can play an indicative role in soil pH, so they are called indicative plants. If azalea grows only on acidic soil, it is called the indicator plant of acidic soil; cypress is the indicator plant of calcareous soil, and Suaeda salsa is the indicator plant of alkaline earth. Different cultivated plants also have different pH ranges for the most suitable growth (see the table below). Knowing their respective optimal growth ranges, we can select suitable crops according to the soil pH according to local conditions; or adjust the soil pH to a suitable range according to the crops.
